Good human ;)
It’d be really helpful if these kind of posts would have such description at the title.

11·2 年前I get it, but I just don’t get why wouldn’t they just follow other govs’ steps and just set up a matrix server instead. It’s already available and proven.

World News@lemmy.world•Gaza hospital bombed: Health Ministry says death toll in Gaza City hospital blast caused by Israel strike rises to at least 500English
1·2 年前In my inexpert eyes, I don’t think group troops will help much because all the info about targets IDF has will become outdated as Hamas will move everything they can. And even if they wouldn’t, letting troops fighting at a foreign place, that the enemy has control at and can prepare amushes and traps at will risk more lives than letting civilians the chance to reposition and live (I don’t take into account the building that gets destroyed, its sad but not worth sacrificing lives for IMO, and that can be fixed with money), and from past lessons (more resources online obviously) I wouldn’t be suprised if Hamas will just use civilians as cover. Ground troops enterance won’t mean no civilian casuallties, Hamas makes sure of it, that’s part of how they get sempathy and support (such a disgusting act, It’s not even about what they’re fighting for at this point. Who acts like that??). And of course that’ll open the option Hamas waiting for the most, kidnapping soldiers.

58·2 年前OK so taking the fact that Hamas hides themselves and their equipment at places that will force killing civilians to clear targets out, what would you do instead? How would you do it so their attacks would stop, beside alerting civilians and then remove intelled targets (both top org people and equipment)?
I guess you’re talking about iOS, so yeah they had no choice, everything is Safari based there (for now). But on android, as I mentioned at my comment above, it’s chromium based.
Why would you mention an add-on here? Anyway, there’s a ddg browser that’s available for both android and windows, and is chromium based.
ddg, brave and opera are chromium based.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Are you interested in a (cross platform) desktop app for lemmy?
1·2 年前Why’s that? I actually find all the desktop apps shows the Post’s imgs/gifs as a small thumbnail, which I don’t like when scrolling the feed. For me everything there works well and pretty convenient.

3·2 年前Just note that you can use Liftoff on desktop, and I think thunder too, but not sure.
TIL, Tnx. I only knew about the client and obviously that’s what I thought that person meant

1·2 年前Sure, visit !vaporents@lemmy.beyondcombustion.net and !vaporents@lemmy.world to start exploring. Also, fuckcombustion.com is an awesome forum about this field.
And please, don’t fall to these headship vapes, which are mostly crap.
Edit: Also, I gave a general recommendation to another user here so it might be useful to you too.

3·2 年前Tried ddg years ago, but I found Searx(NG) and I stick to it since. So awesome. The only downside is that some instances can be unstable for a bit (for example, certain search engine can stop working), but you can export and import settings really easily so I just use another instance I trust until my main one is back to normal.

For forums: Yeah spaces are pretty great (have a look at Mozilla for example) and it can be an alternative IME.
For gaming which even if unasked about, is the majority of the users: When we can have push to talk option (client side, which can be done relatively easy) and proper 30+ FPS Screen share for gaming features, I think it’ll be much easier to convince people to try it. Everything else IMO is QOL features that I don’t mind about. We also tried to use mumble, but the lack of Screen share moved us straight back to discord eventually…
