Just wanted to say that in many of the mail-only states, you can still cut out the post office. For example, in WA, you can print out your ballot at home and drop it into a ballot box. There’s no requirement to use the postal service.

For WA, simply sign into votewa.gov, navigate to “Your Ballot & Voting Materials”, then “Get a replacement ballot”, and finally, select “Print a replacement ballot”. Additionally, you can request pick up a new ballot in person on the same “Get a replacement ballot” page.

Use ballot boxes asuch as possible. In WA, you can also print your ballot and use a dropbox, cutting the USPS out entirely.

The nearest router node is about a mile and a half away, so yes, meshcore is pretty great around the sound because of the amount of routers. Most people here have moved away from Meshtastic because meshcore can handle more nodes and hops.

Meshcore is usable, indoors, in my basement, which is a surprise. It’s much more active than Meshtastic in the Puget Sound area.

This is key. Never use the postal service to send your ballots back, and if you don’t get one from the state because the postal service blocked it, in WA, you can print it at home and drop it in a dropbox.

if you’re in a state like Washington, if you don’t get your mailed ballot on schedule, you are allowed and encouraged to print it at home or at a library and drop it off in a ballot box.

We don’t live in a place where we get a day off to vote, but we do have mail in voting which has proven to increase turnout. While the problems you’ve mentioned are real for some, the vast majority of mail in voters enjoy not having to stress about when they can vote because they’re working three jobs - they can drop it off on the way to work. Mail in voting boosts how many people vote, full stop, and it’s enough to counter non-federal influences like the ones you’ve mentioned here.

Shitting on mail in voting is doing the republicans a favor, there’s a reason they want to get rid of it, and it’s not because of vote manipulation, abuse of voters, or dead people voting.
