I don’t like the website design much; feels like it runs on Electron or something, just not as snappy as the good old CSS of Goodreads. And their choice to implement AI stuff is annoying. But I’m happy they can be real competition for Amazon.
Yeah the author pages need work, as do the reviews/social aspect.
I completely forgot that there is some AI stuff on storygraph, because you can easily turn it off in settings and then you will never see it again.

Yes you can disable it on an individual level, but the whole ethical implications still remain. Plus, does disabling it prevent them from scraping the text of my reviews for their LLM? I’m not sure.
